- Qualification: 6th-12th Grade
- 200 Middle and High School students
- 10 Team Leaders: College Volunteers (Paid Position, Orientation will be announced)

Purpose & Plan

Purpose: To educate and promote the historical background and current issues related to Dokdo through cultural programs to learn the importance of history as 2nd and 3rd generation Korean-American youths in America 
Plan:
- One day event
- All activities will be composed of 10 teams &
each team will have a leader (college student) - 1st _ 3rd place prizes
- Free T-shirts for all students
* This event can be used as an extracurricular activity reference

Program Schedule

  • 9:00 am Registration/Team Designation

  • 9:30 : Opening Ceremony/Welcoming Remarks

  • 9:45 : Dokdo video

  • 10:35 : Break Time

  • 10:50: Team Build-Up

  • 12:00 : Lunch

    Fruits/Drinks/Coffee/Desserts
  • 12:30 : Dokdo Quiz “Challenge! Golden Bell”

  • 13:30 : Seminar for Short Film/Video Clip Making

  • 13:50 : Break Time

  • 14:00 : Dokdo Video Clip Production (Teams)

    (Each team will make a 3 min. video advertisement for Dokdo using smartphones, tablets, and computers)
  • 15:30 : Break Time

  • 15:40 : Korean Cultural performance & K-pop Performance

  • 16:10 : Team Introduction & Video Presentation

  • 17:40 : Break Time

  • 17:50 : Dinner

    Dokdo Cake/Bulgogi/Japchae/Salad/Stir Fry Seafood/Pot stickers Fruits/Drinks/Coffee/Desserts
  • 18:30 : Awards/ Closing

Evaluation and Awards

  • Each team will evaluate the other teams on 100/100 scale
  • Each Team will evaluate 1st~3rd prize from all activities - Team Presentation (30%) - Dokdo, Challenge! Golden Bell (30%) - Dokdo Advertising Video Clips (40%)
  • Awards will be presented as: - 1st prize $1000 - 2nd prize $700 - 3rd prize $500.
